Business Development Manager - Retail POS Solutions

The role will be targeted on new business for one of our clients is Hampshire who is a retail POS and EPOS solutions provider. The role will be based
remotely, while requiring attendance at one of the client's offices, as required for any meetings. As a Business Development Manager, you will be expected to maintain long term relationships with customers and ensure they are operating effectively using the clients solutions

The client is one of the UK’s stand-out technology companies; providing their own point-of-sale solution to a wide range of food retail and hospitality businesses; predominantly farm shops and food halls across the UK and Ireland. Many of their customers are high-profile and nationally award-winning. They have a bespoke software house specialising in the retail market and offering a comprehensive solution covering software, hardware and services for all aspects of a retail business such as Tills (EPoS),
Stock Management, Accounts, Customer Ordering, Warehousing, Web Integration and Mobile.

Collectively, we are looking for ambitious, experienced, salespeople with a proven track record of selling technology solutions; ideally in the food retail sector.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Achieve/ exceed revenue and profit targets.
• To successfully prospect for new sales business.
• Maintain a pipeline of qualified, active opportunities and manage them to closure.
• Maintaining accurate records with the CRM system.
• Report accurately on the sales pipeline to relevant people in the business.
• Collaborate with marketing to support new business and existing account growth.

Key Skills and experience include:
• Previous experience and good track record of success in a customer-facing sales role.
• SaaS and/or technology sales experience is essential.
• Capability to capture requirements and demonstrate the software’s ability to meet them.
• Ability to produce good proposal documentation and presentations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy with prospects.
• Ability to maintain a pleasant manner and calm disposition in difficult situations.
• Experience in or willingness to be involved in a vibrant food retail sector.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Focused and self-motivated in challenging competitive environments.
• Persuasive and confident individual with good presentation skills.
• Ability to think laterally and to devise successful strategies.
